Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to install and test microwave antennae and waveguides
- Risk control measures are applied in accordance with workplace procedures prior to commencing work
- Risks/hazards are identified, assessed and reported to relevant person/s, and control measures implemented
- Nature and location of the work is obtained from relevant person/s to determine scope of work
- Instructions for coordinating work with others are obtained from relevant person/s and applied
- Materials required for the work are determined in accordance with workplace procedures
- Tools, equipment and testing devices required for work are obtained in accordance with workplace procedures and checked for correct operation and safety
- Install microwave antennae and waveguides
- Circuits/components are checked and isolated, as required, in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Antennas are installed in specified locations and within limitations imposed by regulations
- Hardware and accessories are installed straight and square in the required locations and within acceptable tolerances
- Cables and conductors are terminated at accessories in accordance with relevant industry standards, manufacturer instructions and job specifications
- Unplanned events are referred to relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Installation is conducted efficiently, without waste of materials, damage to apparatus circuits or the surrounding environment applying sustainable energy practices
- Test microwave antennae and waveguides and report
- Pre-commissioning adjustments are made to the installation and the system to optimise performance in accordance with system specifications
- Worksite is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s is notified of installation completion in accordance with workplace procedures
